Quote: Am I missing something? Not really...but that one raw set I quoted was kind of an outlier with sets normally going for the high $180's... The last NGC 69 set went for $205 two days ago which is like an eternity with this issue.... I do not see ANY NGC 69 sets as true auctions for at least a week....they are all BIN's Kinda weird.....

Also it may be that if a coin is graded 69 that is for certain what you are getting but the raw sets may possibly have a 70 in them... so that may be why they go for slightly higher than the 69s in the near future.

Did any members receive emails from coin dealers asking to buy the C&C sets for a tiny profit (presale)? I was approached by 2 sellers I had done biz with on ebay. I ignored them. I think the 5 set limit drove this set into the stratosphere. I'm glad the Mint reduced the HH to 2.

I would have ignored them as well. Seems a bit smarmy, but we know it was happening anyway.

Maybe...but...my raw sets are raw for a reason..and...all 69 and lower coins can be made "raw" very easily I can see a premium for sealed box sets but raw? Jury is out on that one....

What's funny is that it would be very easy to open the cardboard box in a way that you could reseal it without any buyer the wiser... Wonder how many of those haVE sold already, I guarantee some have

Wow. I have to wonder if the Eisenhower set will lead, follow, or get out of the way.

I too am wondering how it will go. Since Truman was the first RP C&C will it always be worth more or will the other (possibly more popular) Presidents be worth more, which in turn may raise the value of the Truman even farther? It is going to be a fun next few months! :D

Right now it feels like left is right, up is down, night is day and the sky is solid ground. We are at the precipice of numismatic war this summer where speculation is the name of the game, foresight is blinded and hindsight is unreliable

Hey Foxwoods - I bet they meant for that price to be $204.95 and not $24.95. If they did make that mistake do they still have to honor the $24.95 price? Just curious.

Technically they do, but most likely they will say the item was lost.
