Atlas642, where are you getting your info on the Kennedy set increase? You seem to have information ahead of what the mint is releasing in its news releases.

Quote: My theory is, if they planned this, ... They didn't plan this. And now that they raised the Kennedy limit to 50,000, it may just sell out after the Johnson set sells out. Look how long it took to sell the 4 pc silver set.

Quote: It seems the Mint upgraded that product limit to 50,000 sets after the performance of the Truman set. What's your source or are you speculating?

Atlas was correct on everything he said about the Sacabuck set, so I would assume he would be right about this as well.

The "performance of the Truman set" part is my speculation, but I did receive news from the Mint that the Kennedy product limit is increased to 50,000 sets.

anyone else nervous that when the sale starts, even sitting at the screen waiting, you might not get an order in on time?

Duplicate post...Cascade beat me to it Hint: It would be considerate that when posting "inside info" about a popular item to include the link (like above) so EVERYONE can read it for themselves

Well..the 50k limit changes the ballgame a bit....it will eventually sell out but that 2 per will prolong sales until it is eliminated... Definitely makes the first two RP C & C's the keys...and makes the Kennedy just a regular issue... It does take the potential continuing drama out of the series though....

Yes fox, but on the flip side, pun most definatly intended, it solidifies Truman and Ike as the big boys Edit: If they leave them the heck alone!

The fun is in the chase...remove the drama and it becomes a regular routine Mint issue.
Yes, the Truman and Ike will be the keys but now the keys of a soon to be routine series which, IMHO, will decrease the popularity of all the issues.
Now...if the return the series back to 17 or 25k after Kennedy then there is definite hope with only Kennedy as the outlier..but...I bet they will make it a benign 30k
The Kennedy will sell 50k because it is Kennedy...but it will be a flop (cover your ears JBuck) in the aftermarket sales.

They might lower the mintage on the Johnson dollar because he's not as popular, but there's virtually no way the Reagan dollar is going to have a lower mintage than the Kennedy dollar. My guess at this point is that all three of the remaining reverse proofs will be at the 50k mintage.

@Foxwoods
I can't post links to my "inside info" on these sets because I typically receive it before it's published anywhere else.

I don't think the mint is going to lower the mintage on the Johnson one no matter how popular he is. The mint is seeing $$$$$ dollar signs and plan to make as much money off us as they can. That is why they raised the mintage of the Kennedy one to 50,000 and I'm pretty sure they plan to do the same with all the rest in the series.
