Thank you St. Ridley!! Hopefully you were able to give that find a VerdiCare bath to conserve it nonetheless. The 1909 LWC I posted is barely legible, but a milestone find is a milestone find; bares significance to its owner.

We hope you hang around and contribute where you can!

That's the oldest I've found in circulation. Been off the board lately due to focus on research and other work, and no, I haven't had a chance to do any kind of conservation work on it.

So did you just get all these Morgans from tellers, or what?

My mom worked in a bank during the 80's and that's where the Morgans/Peace Dollars came from. Currently I have two tellers that help me find coins but almost everything silver is mid to late 1900's. I've had way better success with tellers than buying cases of coins.

Finding IH's and silver dimes in change still happens but having a teller call me and say a little old lady just dumped old coins is where I get luckiest. I did find a 1984-S (not 1969-S as I said earlier) Proof Kennedy half dollar last week, very frosty looking, in a case of halves, only good coin found among 1,000.

First attempt at shooting coins through the plastic covering, looks OK but the coin is not in the best condition for detail, 1885 IH recovered from a roll of pennies.

We will be able to go to 1884 tomorrow.

Perhaps changing the Topic to "we need 1884" might yield more coins from the CCF masses, Mr. Moderator, sir. I'll hold off posting any coins for now.

Have the next two Morgans imaged but want to try the new enlarger lens I just got on the '83 IH. I should be able to post it. Is Friday the next day for '83 coins? Hopefully we'll have a few '83 coins, things are getting lean in this thread.
