They have several sell outs in the $2700 and up coins with mintages of 100. So when we look at Platinum Plus members there may be a large number of collectors in this group. So a low mintage coin theoretically may not get passed this level, depending on how many they may purchase. These high rollers more than likely may not be motivated by a $200-$400 profit. They probably laugh at us low level collectors grumbling about not getting access to a coin to flip. I seldom look at coins above $500 knowing this is above my coin budget. Its got to be incredible to hold an ounce and above gold coin! I doubt collectors at this level frequent forums.

If I remember right with the first big coin series there was 350 sets from the RCM that alone was over 3500.00 a few more items your at 5000.00 but the super mc are like black visa holders only seen one of those. Yes that gold kilo dragon was a sight to behold.

If I was in the league of Kilo Gold coins, I'd be looking more at bullion gold kilo's. There is no upside to the coins that large, as at least 10 years of 'upside' is built into the initial price. Purchasing Bullion gold - it's a gamble for sure, Gold could plummet...., but then so would everything else. The people buying Gold Kilo Coins are way beyond anything You (we) can imagine in our pocket change forum. They probably keep gold ounces with them to tip the Maitre d' or the Valets at the most expensive restaurants.

I am still waiting as well. In my earlier post I mentioned my rep had cancelled my order ,then checking the mint website it had been ordered again. So I don't know if he cancelled my website order and then reordered it through himself(the rep) so he could get commission(?).It shows ordered on the 10th November/ processing still. Platinum plus MC. I don't have much faith with RCM any more.

One can see the if the coin has process or in shipping , if not get a hold of your rep, the 45 days holding period is still in effect.

I'll share my rating with the Mint as follows
"Even as a M/C member I had to purchase this coin on the secondary market as my "buy" reply to my rep was too late. It appears from reviewing coin forums the coin was sold to non-status M/C by your front line staff which is not what you promote. You need to follow your own rules. Also why would you example "San Jose CA" in "Your Location". Why not Toronto or Ottawa? Also break down your rating. Coin is excellent but other things not so much."

The rising price of the coin is driven by the lack of supply and large demand. Its been out 3 weeks and we have only 20 listings. That is very low for a 2200 coin mintage.
So, what is causing this lack of supply? Is it because MC members are hanging on to their coins and not flipping it or is a large amount of coins are not shipped yet?
The price of the coin is not going to drop anytime soon if there is no new supply.

The price of the coin is not going to drop anytime soon if there is no new supply. Interesting point is that some people holding it also due to rise in prices (which created by short supply). So the situation same as with 2012 Penny Set: The item is very appealing, affordable issue price and people initially bought to kep rather than resell.

It's a first in a series so my thoughts are more people are hanging on to it even though they may have thought to resell when buying. It would seem to me most have received the coin by now. BTW there is only 9 on ebay
