Still looks very blurry. Are you focusing with the zoom popup window open?

Ocala, what are the light and camera settings that you used for the 1960D, I like the colour/luster on that one.

Focus is MUCH better! Now we're getting somewhere. I was worried there was something wrong with your camera or setup.
f22 is way too small an aperture. For Cents, you should use f8.
I suggest going into the picture style menu and making contrast -2, and make exposure compensation -1/3. this will make a more balanced jpg conversion, with fewer blown out highlights and lighter shadows.

will do those settings thanks rmpsrpms, I am very happy with everything so far I still got a bit to go but wow the information that everyone here has given me and others is awesome. I only hope the photos I take of errors and varieties will do the same for others also thanks again. the first testrite copy stand just arrived the cs-3 the thing is huge 60 something inches high lol and sturdy not to put it together and everything to where it should be. no more $10 shaky stand or stacks of books... I hope..

First picture on the new stand this time I used a circulated coin with some character to it a 1972-D DDO-001 it is a chocolate brownish color with hits, nicks, etc and the doubling. I am trying to get the focus and color white balance a lot trickier then the bu coin. Here is my results from first attempt color is deeper and slightly darker there is a weird red color on rim above in god not on coin. the white halo effect comes from the lighting I believe. I will try to redo and tweaking the settings on this to get a nice picture.

Looks pretty good but it appears the stand might be allowing the camera to tilt vs the lens. You might want to calibrate flatness using the mirror technique. Or you can stop-down to f11 or so and accept a bit of diffraction blur in order to get improved depth of field.

yes it can tilt and appears to be slightly off from being level now that I look.. not by a lot but enough...I will look up and try mirror technique ( I have no clue what that is) but guessing the mirror helps leveling somehow...
