The 1842 is silver plated as a Sheffield. Chinese counterfeiters do not make Sheffields. Thery are normally Fe/Ni or German Silver (Cu/Zn/Ni). See the Gurney book on Counterfeit 8 Reales. Not a contemporary. Too much detail to be a period counterfeit, as contemporary/period counterfeits usually lacked detail. Report this Post to the Staff
