I bought a AU 55 1913-D Barber half dollar for my 20th Century Type Set. This coin has the 6th lowest mintage of the Barber half dollars which I felt was an added bonus when I purchased it. I don't think it makes it any more valuable even though it's rarer then the more common dates.
VERY nice coin. Many longtime collectors prefer AU-55 and -58 to an MS-63. High quality appearance at a significantly lower price. I would say your coin proves the point.
A Barber half is the last coin needed to finish my Whitman 20th Century Album! Well, except for the new nickel post 1966. Not sure why I am having so much trouble remembering to look for a nickel in my spare change.
