Personally I think the 1842 is a period counterfeit and this 1877 may be Chinese. The 1842 is silver plated as a Sheffield. Chinese counterfeiters do not make Sheffields. Thery are normally Fe/Ni or German Silver (Cu/Zn/Ni).

See the Gurney book on Counterfeit 8 Reales.

Both are made by the same counterfeiters, you can tell by the color of the coin.

Regardless, counterfeits. Not a contemporary. Too much detail to be a period counterfeit, as contemporary/period counterfeits usually lacked detail.
