Quote:Hopefully this comes in time enough to make the 2016 Mercury dime, Standing Liberty quarter, and Walker half commems available in silver instead of gold or platinum Quote: The new mandate does not apply to commemoratives, but legislation for recently proposed silver dollars has included the more flexible composition language Since 1986, the United States has minted one-dollar silver coins called "Silver Eagles." Each contains a minimum of one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver.

I actually don't mind it on the pucks so I'll reserve judgment until I have one in hand

Great follow-up article. Thank you for sharing. I hope they wait until 2017. I do not want there to be two silver proof set types this coming year (2016).

Or 3, if the Limited Edition comes back for 2016. *shudder*

The limited edition is not a type, but a packaging choice. I was thinking having a 90% type and a 99.9% type. In other words, it would mean needing two silver proof holes for 2016 in the Dansco albums, which of course will never be updated. Then there is the question, "How do you tell them apart once they leave the OGP?"

I know what you meant. I just thought I'd I can't imagine them changing gears halfway through production of the 2016 Ag coins, but you never know.

I agree. They have waited this long. Certainly they can wait on more year to make the change on the proof set coins.

Finally, something that makes sense with coinage (although it is NCLT). More silver and less cost! I wonder if some collectors will use this as an opportunity to stop a series since there is a composition change? Possible commemorative dollar or silver proof set collectors.
