Great to hear that! Now I have to get my 2x2's out and revisit those rolls I put away a long time ago. I better look for staples before I get going. I have no idea what I have but they were "keepers" at the time.

Great Start, Ceaton!! Welcome to the affliction known as nickel roll searching! To start with 4 silver nickels and a Buffalo I'm sure just fuels the fire to go get more!! GOOD LUCK!!
I've searched another 100 rolls to bring the total up to 3000; too tired to list the results tonight, so I will do that tomorrow. I will include a breakdown of how many of every date has been found to this point.

Waaaahh - that's the sound of me crying cuz I'm not getting all the good finds y'all are. I've done maybe 50 rolls of pennies and maybe 20 rolls of nickels, and haven't found much to write home about. A couple of pennies in the 40s is about it. But like Creaton said, it is fun. In fact, I was quite surprised at myself last night. I decided to take a break from looking at coins, and decided to do some coin housekeeping stuff. I looked at a few web sites, and before long, I was really wanting to get back to searching. Guess I've got ye olde roll-searching bug too.

I think it would be neat if you could use a program that would make a graph and the bars looked like stacks of coins! I'm sure that there is a spreadsheet that does that. I used to save all the nicer 71's for some reason. I also saved well struck 64 and 64D 68D 68S 69D 69S 70D and 70S with steps as you probably already noticed they are usually found somewhat mushy and weak.
Have you noticed that your 58's and 59's are an unusual dark, almost blackish, gun metal in color sometimes? I really think they are neat.
Other tough dates with steps and detail are the 52D 52S 53D 53S 54D 54S. 53S being the most difficult in my opinion to get even a couple steps.
