Quote: 1938-S , 1942-D, 2 1942-S, 1944-D, and 2 1949-S Great finds, John77. How many 38-S coins do you have since 2016? Those 49-S coins aren't too common, and you found 2. Well done.

Thanks, aristarchus123 and Errors_and_Varietys! By the way, I am up to 9 1938-S nickels found in circulation now via my now almost 2 1/2 year old CRH efforts... Only the 1939-D (3), 1950-D (3), 1938-D (7) and 1955 (8) have been harder to find for me... I need to do some catching up on my spreadsheets. I did a box this morning and it started horribly... only 2 pre-60s and a single 2009-D in the first 25 rolls. However, it came through like gangbusters at the end with XF/AU 1944-P, 1944-D, and 1945-S War Nickels! I ended up with 14 pre-60s and that lone 2009-D.

I wonder how many other CRH ever have found these three coins in the same calendar month? July, 2018 is a month I won't ever forget!

Quote: I did a box this morning and it started horribly... only 2 pre-60s and a single 2009-D Doesn't that make you ill? I completed a box of customer rolls, many looked like nice circulated samples if I was working on a book. But only 1 pre 60 and 2 2009's in the whole box. I wanted to quit in the middle of the box, return it to the bank and just get a box of machine rolled.

I wanted to quit in the middle of the box... I definitely was ill as I sat at 2 pre-60s in 25 rolls. My record low of pre-60s for a box is 9... so I was thinking this box was headed towards infamy. And I was apprehensive about the box the moment I got it as a similarly marked box with the "Roberto 7/17/18" stamp had only produced 12 pre-60s (no silvers or even a decent date) a week ago. Thankfully, this box was much better at the end! Quote:John77, You hit the trifecta of Jefferson nickels! Yup! I doubt that ever happens another time in my lifetime in a calendar month... sure was a fun (and profitable) CRH month for me! Quote: John77, very nice finds and congratulations! You've done great! Thanks again, Errors_And_Varieties! Feels great accomplishing this!

I went back through my records... and forgot that in January, I had found this little gem: It is sitting in a 2x2 and not in my folder... so when I found that 1939-D the other week, I actually did go back-to-back years completing the Jefferson nickel set out of circulation!

John77, again, very nice find and congratulations! That's in very nice condition! It's not that easy to find gem ones like that.

I went through about $200 in nickels recently. I found a dateless buffalo, a 1929 buffalo, two War Nickels, and a mixture of pre-1960's. I still have more rolls to search also. I will not be able to search the remainder of the rolls till Monday though because I left the nickels at my day center program. At the place I have my own coin area. I will either update on Monday afternoon or Tuesday on what else I find.
