Quote: Found a 1944-P in a customer roll today, which was an album filler. Now I just have 5 holes to fill. Cheers! Very nice!

How's this for an ender? A Zlincoln cent of all things? In a $100 box of bank wrapped box of nickels... Gave me a good laugh though

On an old RFT livestream they found a 1962 copper cent in a half dollar roll.

Update: That Zlincoln ender turned out to be a 1988 Philly cent with much damage, like one would find in a coinstar reject slot... Counted the roll in nickels: $1.95, so the counter rolled up said cent as a nickel

I found a cent and a nickel in a half dollar box once, I wasn't too happy. I think I ended up a few dollars short that box but I don't know for sure.

Got my usual $20 from the credit union this afternoon. Terrible start during sorting.
No 1950s, a worn 1940, a really worn 1939, and all the 1960s coins were either 1964-P/D or trashed except one (a 1961). The 1970s nickels were also trashed except a 1977 and a 1979. The 1980s had no 1982s and the 1983s looked like parking lot coins. Nothing interesting in the 1990s, 2000-2003, LAP.
So I arranged my setup for finding lines-in-doors nickels for 2006-2022. Ridiculous. In about 125 nickels, I pulled 9 definite DDRs and two likely DDRs. That is unheard of, the hit rate is usually 1-2% for 2006-2022. Meaning that in $20 of nickels, I will typically find 1-2 modern DDRs. To find 9-11 is wild. No pattern, all years, some I have definitely seen before, others that I haven't.
I am starting preliminary attribution. I haven't even touched the 24 nickels from 2023-P yet, but those might yield get more little treasures.

Did my usual $20 today. I haven't checked for RPM or doubled dies yet, but I ended the unwrapping and sorting phase with a 1943-S War Nickel. Very beat up, but silver is silver! =)
