Tough shape, but it circulated for 105 years. Machine wrapped roll from the local CU.

Just out of curiosity, is it me or are 2009 nickels becoming harder and harder to find? I've found more War Nickels than 2009 nickels. I actually haven't found any 2009 nickels in a long time; whereas before, I found them a lot more frequently, as in a few months ago. They just suddenly dried up. I see that they're going up in price on ebay, too. Also, Buffalos are getting harder to find, too. Haven't found any in a while.

Got a box today. It's been almost exactly 4 years since my last box. I was able to get 6 hole fillers since I didn't have any of the new nickels. Still only missing the 1950d to complete my whole collection. Well I still need 2023 p and will need 2024 as well so that gives me something to look forward to.
Box# 100: 1939 1940 (X5) 1941 (x4) 1941 d 1941 s 1943 p silver 1944 p silver 1946 1946 s 1947 1954 s 1956 d 1957 1958 d (x2) 1959 d 1957 d (x3)

Found what I believe to be a 1944-S War Nickel today in a Loomis roll. It was pretty darn slick, probably the slickest Jefferson I've ever found, weighing only 4.61 grams. Was pretty sure that it's a 1944, but the mint mark on the back was 99% gone. So given the poor condition the coin was in, I decided to give it a baking soda/aluminum foil/sea salt/hot water bath. It did wash away some of the tarnish and gunk, so the 1944 was pretty clear to both me and my wife. We believe it's an "S" mint mark, maybe with 90% confidence. In any case, pretty sure it was a War Nickel, so can't complain about finding silver Cheers!

Thank you, jbuck and Errers and Varietys! Also found a 2000-S proof nickel yesterday. It's got the Ring of Death on it from being an ender and has lost most of the cameo, but it was an album filler, nonetheless. Today I found a 1928-S Wheat cent, which was also an album filler and in decent condition. Cheers!
