In $50 of MWR over the weekend, a well circulated 1938 S showed up. Not really photo worthy but the third rarest business strike Jeff and a welcome change from the otherwise sparse hunt.

Found a 1939-S key date nickel in a Loomis roll today. This is the third 1939-S I've ever found. Still missing the 1938-D, 1939-D, 1943-D, and 1950-D for my Jefferson nickel collection. Maybe someday. Cheers!

Two highlights from the last box. I wasn't expecting to find a coin from Vatican City.

Wow, sich0015! Nice find on that 1939-D! Now, for those who don't know, it appears we might have a nickel repeat of 2009 in the works: To date, the Philadelphia mint has only made 36,720,000 2024-dated nickels, the Denver mint has only made 29,760,000 2024-dated nickels. I can't confirm finding a 2024-dated nickel so far this year (all of my searching has been in the L.A. and Las Vegas areas)... anyone else had any luck finding one?
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

That's some very interesting information, John77. I'm almost certain that I found a few 2024-Ps in my last nickel box. But I was not aware of the slow production and did not pay them any attention.
I'll pick up two nickel boxes this week and report back on how many (if any) 2024s are in them. In Cincinnati we usually get a good mix of Philadelphia and Denver coins.

Been searching a box of nickels each week since the beginning of the year and have not seen any 2024 nickels. Usually by this time of the year I would have ended up with a complete box of bright shiny current date nickels. I'm in the southeast Michigan area.
