That's some very interesting information, John77. I'm almost certain that I found a few 2024-Ps in my last nickel box. But I was not aware of the slow production and did not pay them any attention.

I'll pick up two nickel boxes this week and report back on how many (if any) 2024s are in them. In Cincinnati we usually get a good mix of Philadelphia and Denver coins.

Thanks TomM... will be very interested to see your results...

Been searching a box of nickels each week since the beginning of the year and have not seen any 2024 nickels. Usually by this time of the year I would have ended up with a complete box of bright shiny current date nickels. I'm in the southeast Michigan area.

That's good information, tnt... I've found a scattering of 2024-D dimes and cents, and a whole bunch of 2024-D quarters... I am going to double-check all of my 2024-finds to make sure there aren't any nickels hiding...
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I finished one Brinks box of nickels today. One 2009-P, but little else of note - and not a single 2024.

I'll search the other box this week. I will also try to buy a box from a bank near me that orders through Garda and has had nothing but 2024 quarters since March.

No 2024s yet in the second box, either, although a 1945-P lifted my spirits.

I visited four banks today that usually have only current year coin for their MWR. Two had only CWR nickels, one had MWR 2023-Ds, the other had MWR with all new 2019-P nickels. I'm friendly with a teller at one, and I'll see if he can order me a box through their distributor (Garda). Hopefully it will be new 2024s, but we'll see.

Nice find, TomM. You might want to check those 2019 Nickels for DDR's, if you collect variety and errors.

In my weekly $20 from the CU, I had two War Nickels: a 1944-P and a 1945-S. Also, a 1953-D that looks like it had never seen the light of day, always weird to find coins in that condition.

My second box yielded zero 2024s, although I did find a dateless 1913-P type one.

I ordered another box of nickels through a bank which always has new coins. Indeed, their MWR are currently all 2024s for pennies, dimes, and quarters. But my box of nickels, despite being packaged the same, was recirculated with the most recent date (so far) being a couple 2023s. So the search for 2024s continues.
