The Coat of Arms has better design. But SML was kind of Anniversary
so hard to predict here...also 6000 units of mintage doesn't contribute to the coin to be highly demanded. I just try to spend less, specially on the items that have potential to be discounted.

Question - why are people hyperventilating over the Egg coin that is not even nearing a Sell Out at RCM? If producing minimum quantities at the onset results in people panicking to find it at dealers....seems an excellent type of intentional selling strategy, a win/win for both RCM and dealers caused by panic based on creation of an artificial demand. I don't get it. Might someone kindly explain?

What does it mean "not even nearing a Sell Out at RCM"?

It means RCM indicates they are "awaiting stock" which indicates their production department has not yet minted the total mintage of 4,000. The reason RCM often does not mint the full mintage at once is so they aren't left with a pile of unsold product. For all we know only 1000 of the 4000 might have been produced so far. To add: Another reason might be higher priorities to manufacture another type of order, or equipment breakdown, or something as simple as several key employees coming down with a bad case if the flu.

The "awaiting stock" message has absolutely nothing to do with the production cycle.

Okay, so from what source do you suppose RCM "awaits stock" from?

My intention is not to discourage people from buying RCM products that they really want to own but holy smokes, let's not let this forum become a RCM product hype for no good reason especially at a time when it appears collectors of NCLT are otherwise declining. Secondly, if people don't know they should, virtually every corporation with a healthy marketing department relies on computer modeling to determine their customers buying behaviours. What that means is by analyzing historical data trends, the valleys and peaks, the company can use that information that replicate scenarios for the sole purpose of increasing their sales. Whether you have an plastic ID card or an account, your past buying behaviour becomes part of that data. Simply put, computer modelling of consumer behaviour is often an incredibly accurate manner of predicting sales volumes - it works much like tug on the string and watch the puppet jump. RCM has released full planned mintages, in this case 4,000 but nobody is able to see beneath those numbers. So what if in their first round of producing a batch of Egg coins they minted, say only that 1,000? Is a mad rush for a limited supply a common buying behaviour noticed in the past? I don't know the answer but it lies within the question -- If the full 4,000 had been minted at one time and every dealer was fully stocked, how many of you would still be interested in buying this coin?

One would guess that with this odd shaped one of the kind die and collar set up that it would be produced in one production run, but who knows with the RCM, remember some of the minipuck loonies with like 49 or 200 mintages. also forgot about the planchet production and colouring unless these were out sourced.

Quote: If the full 4,000 had been minted at one time and every dealer was fully stocked, how many of you would still be interested in buying this coin? This is so right. We have here 2 collectors that were interested in the coin due to their roots / friends. That's all. For the majority this "Egg coin" absolutely the same as "Faberge Egg coin", just minted by RCM. For other majority doesn't mater egg or not , but have to be "hot".

Only about 50 of the Library of Parliament left on RCM site. Once these are gone, watch for the dealers to raise their price.

Besides the obvious meaning of empty stock, the "awaiting stock" is the way to slow down the selling process to make certain coins available for the low level MC and public. They release certain quantity of coin every morning and by the end of the day you might get the "awaiting stock" sign. However, the next day stock will be available again. Of course the resources are not unlimited and eventually this sign fill be final one, just before the "sold out" brick.

Yes issues involving possible outsourcing is a valid point. If I recall correctly a recent example involving coloured coins was the 25c flag six-pack that was held up for afew weeks due to "production problems".
