This 1875-S Seated dime has a reverse die crack near the rim at about the 3:00 and 5:00 positions. Anyone knows the variety? Thanks for any assistance!
Die cracks are not a variety, they are die damage and some people collect the ones that are severe or in certain areas like the cracked skull Lincoln cents and even then they usually pull a small premium.hope this helps
Thanks MV. I had already checked that site and compared many of the images and descriptions there, but I wasn't able to find any references to the particular die break on the coin I have. Perhaps the wear on the coin may have eliminated some other identifying mark and I'm just missing it on that website. Thanks again. I appreciate the help!
I believe I located the variety on the above coin, though I'm not 100% certain since wear has removed some of the identifying marks. It does look like a good match though - F111.
