The Inukshuk is at 80% now. I ordered four of them! They are pretty cool!

You right MoneyPenney with the assumptions, but.... what make it special? Design is not 100% (well, this personal) Price of CAD60 for 1/2 oz coin? Usually it less, only several coins were priced CAD75. And the last - looks like RCM started to issue whatever in each period of time, not really related to the season or commemorative dates. And this is very good example. Not part of the series, gold plated Inukshuk (didn't we have "Inukshuk" in 2013?) and 70% of mintage already sold out? Who are these customers, loaded Inukshuks - are they super VIP, who collects 1kg gold coins? Probably not. Looks like commissioned stuff, with significant amount of mintage went out. Great combination for re-sellers, who will speculate on shortage of supply and will quickly unload the coins. Cherry Blossom - who needs it now?

Quote: Disappointing also Special edition SD - it shouldn't be colorized variation of previously issued SD. While the new coin is not simply a colourized version of the SD released in January -- the new coin depicts the port (left) side of the ship vs. the starboard (right side) view seen on the SDs released earlier -- I agree it would have been better to have had a noticeably different scene depicted. Perhaps an on-ship view of workers deploying the cable at sea? I'd have preferred that vs. two similar views of the SS Great Eastern anchored in the harbour of Heart's Content, NS!

1/2oz Inukshuk coin is awaiting stock now. Only few hours after release to Platinum Prestige ( Online ) 6 hours ago, RCM still had 479 pcs in its system. Now all gone. By the way, This black display case seems ships together with coin ( unconfirmed )

@ "Justsilver" "Packaging: Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box." Nothing said about the floating display case. Nice if it was a bonus, but it wasn't written in the description. The coin is really growing on me- simple with class.

Thank you Cash03 for clarification. Kind of strange to see RCM Inukshuk Coin's video that showed Black Display Case. Cool & fast selling coin, anyway. Hope RCM dealers won't raise selling prices because RCM already awaiting stock.

@Silveroid, The 2013 Inukshuk coin was 40,000 mintage, compared to the new one which is 6000. Quote: what make it special? -It is a gold plated silver coin. We haven't seen one for a long time. The last one I remember is the 2010 gold plated silver coin commemorating the 2010 Canada Olympic gold. -Its the first reverse gold plated coin put out by Canada. Have you seen the video? The coin looks pretty good. Its interesting the RCM put the coin under the gold coin category. Who wouldn't want a gold coin to display among your silver coin. It will surely stand out.

Quote:Hope RCM dealers won't raise selling prices because RCM already awaiting stock Give it a day or two and it'll likely be back in stock. For some reason the RCM always seems to forget where they kept ALL the coins and someone finds them. But really, I think they put a limit on how many are sold early.

I agree with the huge mintage difference, MoneyPenney And agree that coin isn't bad at all... That's true, the coin has some appeal But unlike the 2013 coin, I see here the image is flat. But it's ok. Regarding the "Reverse Plated" - what this RCM definition means. Isn't it the same as selectively plated? Just play with the words. And about the gold plated coin - this one was the recent: Canada Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Celebrating Excellence 50-cent Gold Plated Coinbase metal, fully plated, proof and inexpensive....but no one cared. So could be that Gold, Platinum and Up MC suddenly jumped on this 6.000 coin and bought 75% of mintage?

base metal, fully plated, proof and inexpensive....but no one cared. 15,000 mintage vs 6000 for the Inukshuk copper vs silver for Inukshuk Pan-Am Games - no one cares outside of Toronto.

IMO, it's just another selectively gold plated coin.
