That is amazing silverdon.

It would have been nice to start putting silver away in the 70's.

I'd love to inherit a trunk like that ...filled like that

Another slow week for the silver box, less than four ounces.

That reminds of the old-time trunks when a person would be at sea for months at a time.

This thread has inspired me and I wanted something to keep my silver in. I had this old basket lying around, not sure where it came from (my wife and I go to estate auctions so I suspect it came in a box lot from one of those). Anyway, I think the silver looks good in there. About 72 oz by my estimation and continually adding.

I really like that, harpua! Looks like it could have been a real "coin jar" from way back in the day.

It also looks like the handle has some old Chinese coins on it, although they might be fake.

I think it might have been a sewing basket at one time. When I was prepping to put the silver in there, I found a sewing needle stuck in the side.

Those are Chinese coins and I do believe they are real, though common (though I haven't really bothered to identify them yet).....but that was another reason I thought this basket made a nice coin box...already had the look.

I think it has a very nice look ...

Seeing all the different containers members are using to store
their silver coins is a real joy ......
