A little more silver for the box.

I hope this thread is a good example of putting away a little
silver each week can add up.

It is. I am glad I am subscribed to this thread. I haven't picked up any silver in a few months, so I did some catching up this week and got myself a roll of eagles. :)

Saw a really nice vintage trunk at an auction a few days ago and the first thing that popped into my mind was GR58's treasure chest. I didn't buy it but I was tempted. Good thing too - it would have taken a ton of bullion to fill it.

Maybe you could have bought it and worked a trade with GR58 for his smaller one. I am sure he is about to outgrow it.

A vintage trunk sounds interesting.

The one I have will do .. until I get with my brother and build one.

The size I have now, I am thinking will hold about 400 oz.
The box has a little over 220oz ....so over half way.

Here is a photo of the chest I saw. It sold for $160 -- A bit too much in my opinion.

A nice looking chest, but yes, $160 might be a bit too much for it.

Nice looking chest ...$160 is a little high.

It looks like it is a pretty good size ...

Fill that full of silver and it might take a few good men to pick it up ...

It would take more than a few good men, even if they were Marines.
It would likely require a forklift.

Nice idea about making your own chest though. I am planning to do that 'one of these days' . . .
