Alright guys, this is my first thread, so let's see how this goes. While doing homework that I still have to do, I thought of the idea of posting coins through the countries, alphabetically. I would like to go by a list I found in the 9th edition of world coins. If someone else has a better list, feel free to post it, and we can go by that instead. Some basic rules: 1 country per day Countries can be skipped after a week, but no sooner Post just for the country of your current date. The first country is Afghanistan, which, sadly, I don't have. It's up to you guys to start, so let's a go. Edited by CollectionMaster 03/09/2017 11:32 pm

For me it's easy. I only collect US coins.

Quote: Post just for the country of your current date. do you mean to have one country per day? like Afghanistan today (Thursday), Albania tomorrow (Friday), Algeria the day after (Saturday), and so on

I think it's a nice idea. It'll be the sister thread to "How Far Back Can We Go?" So, it should be one country per day unless the next country isn't posted and it will stay on that one until it is and then move to the next country the next day. Edit: and the specific country list should be known and/or posted if different than what you already posted. Also, I know Fuzzy has at least 91 of those covered!

If you want to get all the countries, than you will have to wait until one from each country is posted. It might take a day .. or weeks. And as suggested, post out a list of each country. Maybe monitor it each day .. let us know what the next country is.

Just looking at the pages ... I am thinking it might be very hard to get a coin from all of them. You might want to leave a option to skip a country are a certain number of days. Some of those countries I never heard of ... And I almost made it all the way through skcool ... Fuzzy317 ... 99 is a lot .. be fun to see what you got. I might have 3 or 4 to add ..

You might want to post a add in the world coin section, with information about this post .. and a link to this thread.

Quote: on your 2nd page, can't read the top four on the left I think I can read them: Kelantan, Kenya, Khmer Republic, and Kiribati. Quote: EDIT3 - on your 1st page, can't read bottom left That looks like Chad. Adding on to the missing countries, I see neither Andorra nor São Tome and Príncipe. There should probably be a typed-up list or something, including countries that are missing, to make it easier to read. Altogether though, I find this quite interesting. I have no coins from Afghanistan, but can participate once we reach Albania. EDIT: East Timor, Kyrgyzstan, Ottoman Empire, Samoa, Turkmenistan, Uganda, and Ukraine all seem to be missing as well.

Not sure if we should wait and start this Monday, so more users can participate and more of the guidelines can be settled.

The specific list needs to be typed and included (maybe as a clearly legible image or two to save space) in the first post of a New topic that will be the official place to post coins to get things started and one that has a more appropriate title. You can make whatever rules about time limits on difficult countries/states/empires, etc. I'm interested because I have a decent handful of countries to contribute and seeing all the others would be cool. Also, I'm not familiar with that list but at least any obviously missing countries/independent states should be added (one big one may be U.S. Colonial). So, compile the final list, tweak the rules and make a new official topic. Off we go!

Hi CollectionMaster! I started this thread and it ran for 26 days - one letter a day: http://goccf.com/t/184912&whichpage=1That was a long time ago, so I think it's a great idea to revive the topic!

Wow, everyone is taking kindly to this idea! What I gather from everyone's ideas is:
Type up a list of the countries
Create a new thread, this one is just a notice about the topic
Post a link to the thread in the world coins section.
This is a fairly reasonable list to do, and shouldn't be too hard over the weekend. Again, thanks for helping me with the processs!
