Friendly suggestion:

Can people make sure to give the name of the country together with their coins? It adds to the interest, for me anyway.

I don't have any for the 1100's that can be attributed to a single year, but a lot of variety.

This one is an 1162-72 Hungarian denar under King Stephen III.
Huszar 171,Unger 85.

@demarco, sure glad to oblige! Here is an early denar from Cologne, a German Archbishopric. Way back around 1190 AD it was struck 5-10% off-center. The attribution is Bonhoff 1584 and somewhere along the way it acquired some rainbow toning. I look forward to seeing some more 12th Century coins being posted!

Yet another Hungarian denar from the 1100s:

1131-1141 (Bela II), Huszár 53, Frynas H.11.3:

This is currently my smallest coin, and is only 9mm in diameter. I had to use stacking to get everything in focus at one time. Notice the obvious crack -- I'm surprised this coin didn't get a details grade.

@pepactonius,they are very tough to picture. I'm wondering if that crack is a stress fracture from striking.

I don't know, but I'm just hoping it's not a new (and growing) crack caused by those prongs squeezing too hard.
