Quote: it's an 1853 large cent lol. I have no idea how it got in there, but I just put it in a 2x2 and said "don't lose it" lol.

Here's a few more pics of some nicer stuff. Camera doesn't seem to like luster much. Looks a little grainy, but whatever. The 1941 merc is a true blazer. Looks like it just came off the press. 1939-S 1941 1938 1st year Jefferson

Ok, done with Nickels. There were 29 Buffalos, and 13 V nickels. Nothing of not in the Vs.just worn stuff from 1900-1912. The Buffalos were all Philly MMs, but did have some nicer later 30's stuff and maybe some F-VF 20's. Only 5 no dates. Here's a nice BU 1937 that was in there.

nice finds indeed! I love that those MS dimes were just sitting for all these decades in that bank like that. Great heirloom.

Do the dateless SLQ have stars below the eagle on the reverse?
You should put vinegar on those dateless buffs.

2 did not, which is how I knew they were 1916 or 1917.
I used the gown length on the left leg to determine they were 1917.

wow what a great story. these are really nice coins. The question becomes do you 2x2 and album house them or seal them back inside once cataloged?

Quote: Well, I have about 2/3rds of it emptied. Good work! Quote: Funny story. I'm sitting here going through the bank coins. There was some pocket change in the bag of coin stuff the bank was in. I let my 8 year old daughter go through it to fill her coin books All the sudden she yells "oh my god, it's a large cent!"
In my head, I'm like "yeah right" she brings it over and sure nuff...it's an 1853 large cent lol. I have no idea how it got in there, but I just put it in a 2x2 and said "don't lose it" lol. Wow! Nice find! Thank you for the photos.
