Some great coins you guys are posting!
I am sitting on the sidelines now as my supply of O-mint coins is exhausted. I would love to add an 1843-O, '45-O or '49-O dime to my collection, but as dsfreeworld mentioned, these are scarce (and expensive) coins. Oh well...

Quote: I'm helping fill the gap on this wonderful thread during these tougher years with some of my favorite images of circulated coins. Here is a PCGS EF45. Business strike with PL fields and very good looking IMHO. I love the toning on that one.

1849-O dime (in horrible shape, AG3?, FR2?): I'm not sure when and why I got this coin -- it may have been a free bonus from some dealer.

Quote: (in horrible shape, AG3?, FR2?): i dont think so. Looks original to me and the light cleaning was an old water and rag over a hundred years ago. That is a prototypical AG IMHO. Nice coin. The second was a recent p/u for what I consider an aggressive price considering the scarcity of the coin even in lower grades.

Those are some pretty nice O-mint halves. Congratulations also on those 1849-O dimes, dsfreeworld. Scarce coins.

1850-O dime PCGS# 4592 PCGS Coinfacts estimates that there's only about 250 of these that still survive, in or out of holders.

@Germanics - thank you sir. You need a '49-O for your set? I will keep an eye out for you and PM any finds online here in the states.
I think once we get into the upcoming decades we'll see lots of Morgans and more dimes.
Nice 1850-O's so far today. What a great thread even though there is little action. It goes to show what true scarcities these early year New Orleans coins are. Maybe some collectors will be inspired to seek out a few new coins.

I'd love to add more early O mint Lib Seated coinage to my collection, but the auctions are full of cleaned, damaged, or "optimistically graded" raw coins, and attractive slabbed coins bring fairly high prices. 1854 will be my next year unless I get lucky today :)
