I got permission from Bobby to make this thread as his contacts aren't knowledgable enough in this field to make a solid determination. I will be compiling sellers of counterfeit Chinese cast coinage into this thread. You all can make submissions as well, but this thread is specifically for pre-1912 Chinese cast coinage.
I will start with the seller
best66666. He/she has been dealing in counterfeits for years unchecked. Most of the pieces have the glossy patina that I worn of. As a clincher, all pieces are guaranteed genuine, even though they are fakes. There are some authentic coins in there, but they are common, low-grade pieces. BEWARE THIS SELLER!

Another counterfeit retailer. This one is outside of
ebay, but just as dangerous. EVERY coin in the inventory is fake. BUYER BEWARE!

amazingitems3000I see only one genuine lot of coins (the Wu Zhu pair). Everything else has the fat-character look, as well as bad patina. Some fantasy issues are thrown in.

wenke799Lots of fake modern stuff as well as fake cash. The cash has bad patinas, wrong calligraphy styles, and some fantasy issues. There are some fake NGC slabs as well.

museumscollectionEverything is fake. The patinas are all horrible, the calligraphy is wrong on many issues, and there are many modern charms.

anhuiren10Mostly charms and fantasy issues, but some counterfeits. Many of the character strokes are thick and lifeless. Patina is uniform throughout the inventory, a major red flag.

jameklinge_4The rims give these away. The should be fat, but these have a slight roundness to them.

becksent1Lots of charms and fantasy issues, obvious by their large size (40+ mm). Many have the light green + tan patina I warn about.

chenchong20111105Lots of fantasies and charms. The patina is uniform throughout all of the coins in the listings.

bccultureThis seller specializes in counterfeit Asian antiquities. There are lots of coin counterfeits and some off-metal fantasies. There are some spade coins that are very well done (and even have some pin holes in them), but they too are victim to the condemning glossy patina. The patina on many of the other coins is less convincing, and the character formation and overall style of the coin is wrong.

che.ca2015Deceptive seller with many counterfeits and fantasies with a sprinkling of genuine coins. There are some counterfeits of struck coins as well. The counterfeits are all advertised as genuine.
