I have another Canadian penny that I was going to post a earlier. I can't quite figure it out. Mint error..? or more shenanigans? There is no slop over on the rim or obverse.

Looks like someone put acid on the reverse and just let it sit.

Shenanigans.

Cents from that era were solid copper, not plated.

It looks like some solder on the surface to me.

i think it was plated and it has mostly worn off. Louis Common to see this happen

You often see pennies that were varnished on one side when put in books. It was believed to preserve color.

Looks like a plated coin that was used to "replace" a fuse in an old style fusebox...
