Did someone (Scopru) request Oklahoma? Small towns in Southern Oklahoma just north of the Red River!

Quote: There must be a million notes known on this bank, and I already have one, but just couldn't pass this up at the price: Well done. Quote: Did someone (Scopru) request Oklahoma? Nice pair!

Nice ones, Sky! Talk about rare - less than half a dozen notes of all kinds known on either bank!

I am originally from McKinney. This is the 2nd large size note I've owned from this particular bank and is also one of my favorites. Small notes from this bank are as rare as hen's teeth! I've heard of one but have never seen it. When I was little (about 65 years ago!) I remember riding in the car with my Mom and Dad and them talking about people that lived in certain houses around McKinney when we passed by them. One story about the banker that died "in THAT house" always stuck with me when we drove by it. The story was the bank examiners we're visiting the bank that morning. The banker left the bank later that morning to go home for lunch and never went back to work that afternoon. The "official" story is he had a heart attack and died. The small town "rumor mill story" was the he had hung himself. (I guess the shock of dangling from the end of a rope just might lead to a heart attack, too.) Later, when I started collecting Nationals, I studied the history of this bank and discovered it failed around the same time the Banker had died. The bank assets, including a brand new building, were absorbed in to McKinney's other National bank The Collin County National Bank. I will always believe the rumor mill story just because of what my Mom and Dad had told me.

Wonderful note, less than a dozen known of all types in the Kelly census, this one not included in that survey.

A couple of large Jacksboro, Texas notes. One plain back and one poorly cut date back. Jacksboro is south of the Red River in western North Central Texas. Still a neat little town.

Small notes from Burkburnett & Jacksboro, Texas. Both are small towns in western North Central Texas south of the Red River. Tens seem to dominate my collection.
