Devlec, I think I paid $40.00 for my set back in the day ... you got a deal at $35.00!

You might be right and I might be wrong at $35.. You know it's a while back..I do remember hesitating to drop the $35 or maybe it was $40 for it..

..but as a student and with a little part time job, it was definitely more than a weeks wages..so a biggie for me then..

..and then the gold shot up quickly in price..

I always remember the crispness of the edges on that $20 gold and the very heavy cameo..Such a beautiful piece..!!

A few years back,..still,..no one would pay me more than melt for the set....and then a bit later I joined CCF..

From the sets I've seen it seems that the silver coins don't hold up quite as well as the gold coin. More a tarnishing instead of a nice toning.

DEVLEC do you still have the set?

No, It's gone....along with all of my used non-variety silver.
I kept anything that looked special or different..but I'm sure that many unknown varieties went to melt.

The gold and silver shot way up to $1841(gold) at that time and I moved all of the extras..knowing that what goes up will eventually come down somewhat..

From day one I had wrapped the 67 penny in a clear plastic not knowing that the case would have an effect on many sets.
My penny stayed perfect..but the silver never looked very nice...but that $20 ..My my.. what a beautiful piece..
