I think this wl might end up a candidate for representative "150" coin. Judging by the pics. I'm biased. Thanks for posting.

I also received my GITD coin today from Gatewest Coin. This one doesn't come with a black-light flashlight. My initial impression? A bit disappointed. The blue sky looked washed out. It's not the same blue colour depicted in the product page. I also haven't got the glow-in-the-dark effect work so far. Maybe I should try it again when it gets dark outside. I hope I will start to like this coin soon. Otherwise, I will have to cancel the other order with RCM.

@quasarito - There seems to be a few flaws to the gold plating. Here is one example, perhaps an air bubble trapped there during the plating process: I could be wrong, but please double check your coin.

That whispering maple leaf coin is a beauty, especially the reverse! Not sure what's going on with the gold plating though.

@cc-Ottawa Mine is from Gatewest coins. I was surprised too when I didn't see the flashlight in package. Also, unlike the GITD toonie, you really need a black light flashlight to see the GITD effect on the coin. Without a flashlight, I don't see any glow in dark. I already cancelled my order with RCM.

You're right @shopaholic. Upon careful re-examination of the area you pointed out, it seems like that portion of the coin is missing the gold plating. Looking at it face-on (no pun intended), you cannot really distinguish, but you can see it from certain off-angles. And I can't unsee it. I did notice some very minor plating issues on the rim of the coin when I first examined it, but it was something that I could overlook. However, the problem you pointed out cannot. Of all places, It unfortunately occurred right under the nose too. This coin is going back to the RCM, but I hope they have replacements available. Thanks for the sharp eye!

@quasarito Maybe this coin could be considered an error coin. Remember the twenty dollar bills with the devil's face in the Queen's hair? This may be another embarrassment for her. Anyway don't know too much about paper money and furthermore not too much about coins. LOL Possible name for this coin "Nose Leakage" Maybe no one is laughing but me. Also, Colonial acres currently has 4 in stock of these whispering maple leaves.

Doesn't these types of GITD coins require only a regular light source to charge it.
