My two sets were shipped in the largest box they could find. Probably leftovers from the boxes that held the silver medal. Either that or they held a fridge in a prior life. They were so generous to stuff a few wadded up sheets of brown paper to assure that only 3 of the four corners were bent. It's a good thing I don't really care about the packaging or I would have complained.

Mellamobradley46 that sucks about the packaging.
So in a case like this if someone does return because of damage does the Mint keep extra packaging to be able to re-sell or will there just be one less set floating around? With 50k sets sold, would imagine there were some returns due to packaging issues.

You posted the same "unavailable" status 11 days ago. Except for some cancelled sale sets released it has been that way since that date one day after it was put on sale

Ordered my sets on 10/5 and they shipped on 10/10 with an expected delivery date of 10/14. The sets have yet to arrive as of today's mail and the arrival date has been changed to "pending". I am still within the 1-2 week window that budget shipping allows, so hopefully the FedEx truck just broke down and they will eventually show up. Not holding my breath because...
Over the years I've had at least two U.S. Mint orders come up missing while in transit via U.S. Mail, presumably stolen. After many iterations of contact and submitting required forms (swearing that I did not actually receive the coins), my money was either refunded or a replacement order was sent out. I'm skeptical a replacement set would be available in this instance.

Quote: I see from the production stats the Mint posted last night that the 2016 LES ... I'm surprised, but the bump up in 2016 sales has persisted. so maybe there is some renewed interest in the 2016 sets due to the release of the 2017 set after all.

Here's a couple quick shots of the eagle in its capsule. Looks flawless. The marks off the ray are on the capsule.

TreeMonkey, My Two Cents, Just wait it out... It has happened to Me too and I received the snail's pace mailing packages after all. The worst, I would contact the Mint's Customer Service center and maybe they have some silent stragglers...... Good Luck.....

My package arrived today.
Outer box is perfect. BUT, I have NEVER had a package delivered from the mint, without having to sign for it.
Because the sender info is not on the label and my name/address is HANDWRITTEN on the label. Odd....very odd.
I am NOT opening the box yet, person that I am partnered on this box will probably want to send for grading. So, cannot inspect the contents.

I've only had to sign for a shipment if its value is above a certain dollar amount.
I've never had a handwritten shipping label, though sometimes UPS or USPS will scribble some identifying marks on the box. Are you saying there was no printed label?

The worst, I would contact the Mint's Customer Service center and maybe they have some silent stragglers...... Good Luck..... So I emailed The Mint and below was their reply. Keep in mind the order did not ship until October 10. Quote: We regret that you have not received your order. However, our records show that it was delivered successfully on October 9th, 2017, via tracking number #Xx20. The method of shipping chosen requires one to two weeks shipping (business days). We suggest you contact your carrier for up to date information regarding delivery. So I did. FedEx tracking number still indicates "in transit" and "pending". I call FedEx and basically it is lost. Last scan was in GA. Case number issued. Stuff happens. Quote: However, if your order has still not arrived, please complete and return the enclosed Certification of Non-Receipt form to begin the refund process. Please allow four to six weeks for research and processing. Oh yea. But this shouldn't be necessary since FedEx admits fault. And where is The Mint getting their erroneous shipping information? Or, as you said morgans dad, it just might just show up.

One of my 225 EU sets had a nice crack in it... packaged loose like these were...
