Gotta jump on that one if the ASE is a San Francisco. Ill be reading the details when they list. Thanks for the note.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like the mint rounded out a lot of their schedule for the rest of the year.
I'm still not sure about what to do with this one since missing out on the Congratulations Set.

I didn't think I would be interested as I have two of the congratulations sets and the silver proof set, but I'm not so sure. If I have the congratulations S minted Silver Eagle and the silver proof set, am I missing anything? Actually I think with the limited edition you miss out on the nickle and penny right?

Cool. I love these silver sets. I like the silver proofs and all, but would rather have just a straight silver set without clad mixed in. My in-laws gave me the LE '16 silver as a gift last year and I really enjoyed it! As the other said, thanks for the heads up.....especially seeing that the ASE is an S :)

Quote: Looking at the mints website, the whole lot is San Francisco minted. Yes, that's how it's been since they started releasing these sets a few short years ago. S-mint only for all coins in the LESPS that includes some "upgraded" packaging -- for a hefty premium. Worth it to some, not so much to others. Quote: If I have the congratulations S minted Silver Eagle and the silver proof set, am I missing anything? Maybe the normal proof ASE if you're looking for all non-commemorative proof silver coins. Quote: Actually I think with the limited edition you miss out on the nickle and penny right? And the dollar coin.

The product limit is 50,000 with a HH limit of 2. So for us who missed out on the Congratulation set, this is our chance to get a 2017 S proof ASE.

I think I may go after this since I missed the congrats set. Having a 4th or 5th (whichever it was) rarest ASE would be a nice thing to have.

I am happy for those who missed out on the earlier offering.

So is the only reason this set is considered LE due to them having the "S" mint mark?

The set is ALWAYS called a Limited Edition Proof Set because, well, mintage is limited. This year it has an S proof instead of a normal W proof
BTW...if you already have a silver proof set then you can save some cash and just buy the S proof. Over the last two weeks I have bought some PF69's between $86-99.
The congrats set (single coin) alone costs around $30-40 more and all the 69's I received look perfect....
