I still haven't seen the Vimy twonie in circulation. I did buy an uncirculated one from a dealer, but I wonder if this will be another scarce coin in circulation(?)

Every week I pick up about 5 rolls of $2 coins. I have seen about 10 of the Vimy - most in almost mint condition as they are quite recent.

Not sure why the 2002 loonie and the 2013 toonie should be that tough to find. ...

The 2002 loonie is the lowest mintage loonie minted to date.

1) 2002 = 2.3mil
2) 2012 = 2.4mil (but many melted down)
3) 2010SK = 3.1mil
4) 2004(reg) = 3.4mil
5) 2010(reg) & 1992(reg) = 4mil
Noteworthy 'extra': 2003 uncrowned = 5mil

To date I have never found a 2003 'old obverse' loon - but apparently several here have.

I am also unclear on if the 2006 double date/maple leaf variety toonie was circulated.

I think the Alloy Recovery Program is detrimental to the hobby. One thing I don't agree on with the RCM.

True story. I went into a convenience store down the street from where I worked. To my surprise I received a '64 extra water line nickel in change. The very next week I went to the same store and got a '91 quarter in change. I never had any luck since then and I've been there hundreds of times.

Well...for the first time I finally found a 2013 Twonie in circulation. Only took 5 years for one to come my way!
