Amac, I'd call that coin net F-15 actually. The reverse is between VG/F imo and the obverse is a solid VF. I'd like to get my hands on a 1916D dime myself, preferably in at least VG. Hopefully I can get a good deal somewhere, but congrats on your purchase OP.

All I can go by is the grade a TPG gave it if I had sent it to PCGS it would have come back an VG-8 with rev dragging the grade down. They say the the TPG don't do that but I think they do.

Congrats John, I have an AG03 graded by PCGS. I also completed the entire Mercury set recently. Let me know the results.

That is one beautiful Mercury dime. Congrats on your purchase. That thing will go up and up and up. Hold on as long as you can (but not too long - can't take it with you, ha ha).

Thanks all! I was kinda hoping it would come back graded a little higher, especialy since there's a local dealer that has one graded the same and is asking $200 more for....in a lot worse shape.....but.... It's genuine, and it's found a good home! (at least until I can afford an upgrade! lol)

I bought the 1916 D pictured below last year. It was graded by a TPG. What grade do you think they gave it? Image: 6b1b_1.jpg41.58 KB Image: a8d6_1.jpg12.45 KB alan

afernbaugh, that's a nice one. By strict interpretation of the grading requirements, I'd say G-4?
