Hi I am a new member but been collecting coins off an on for about 35 years I have simalar 1994 d coin but looks like second d more defined

The secondary smaller d has a actual copper loop ir strand the shape of a d . Pictures dont always tell the story
As always opinions are always welcome thats why its a forum sincerly member

It is the production a split plating. The SE area on mint marks suffer from this. The direction of die wear is towards the rim, so if the plating splits on the obverse, then it usually there. Happened a lot on the Denver 80's Zincolns. Just a normal die created this. If is not an extra mint mark. Just a split on that area. Spendable.

Looking foward to presenting more pics of my coins in the future happy coin hunting for varietys and errors rare coins !

They split plating eventually breaks down the coins:

Zinc doesn't like the oxygen in the air.
