That year had some weird stuff going on. I've seen devices that were thick, that still weren't doubled dies.

On this one I was looking at the tops of the LIBERTY on the lower image above.

I saved several from that year and filled a tube with them. But everything looked normal in shape, just some were thinner/thicker than others. Probably different die states from polishing issues. But they were all proportionate in size. On hub doubling there is usually a spread in a direction altering the shape of the devices. But on these I couldn't find that to be the issue. On the coppercoins 1984P-1DO-007 it looks a bit like your devices. But not exactly the same markers. You will have to look it up as the link to the dies are not working.
