Absatootly, thank for sharing pics before they go into the S.D.B. You're right about the large cent a little on the rough side, I picked one up recently with a filled hole, at least your's hasn't been drilled! You have to treasure the history in it though, in its early life instead of being locked away somewhere it was carried, used for every day commerce, pitched? (I guess they did that back then.) Still not too bad for 183 years of service to the good ole U.S.A. Thanks for posting up the loot!

Edward J, Welcome to the club! If you want some realy good Scotch whiskey, try Bells......mmmmmmmmmm. And more coins, and pics of more coins, and then still more coins! I've been busy busy busy, but I have a few treats to post later on tonight, I'll post some here, and also in the grading forum. Now repeat after me Eaglefoot...."I must see at least crappy ebay pics BEFORE buying coins....."!

JohnAP......Maybe I didn't make clear the "embarrasing part" ! I've never bought a coin in my life from " ebay"....... This was at a "Public Auction" ! I was sitting for hours and hours while coins we're being held up a mile away and people were bidding...... Yes, I had ample time beforehand to study the "600 lots" of coins. I did not make any notations on any of the "Large Cents"......so when they got to a few of them.......I just "jumped in" thinking ...."well, I'll just snag one of these."...."how bad could it be ?".......BOY DID I FIND OUT JUST HOW BAD! This occurred about 3 hours in to the auction.....I was getting tired......everything was going for waaaayyyyyy tooooo high of a price..........to cut to the chase.........I left only halfway through the auction with my "prized coin" and then went home in a very bad/ashamed/annoyed/angry/depressed mood !..... There........now ya have it !.....

Eaglefoot thanks JohnAP for the Bud Light.....chugs it....burps rather loudly.....and then signs off for the end of his 10 hour hectic busy day and goes home to collapse on the couch and hopes that a decent Western will be on this evening.....

Quote: Do you have any Large Cents ?... Yes, I have two (of four needed) in my 7070 album: 1833 and 1847. The tone on my 1847 is much like your 1854, which is why I like it. My 1833 has a darker tone to it.
