I'm going to wait until 3/22 to show my Isabella Quarter dollar ...today is for the Columbian Exposition half. Here is mine in honestly worn lowball state: 1893 Columbian Exposition Half - PCGS PO01 We had great fun here at the CCF debating if the partial date visible could be differentiated between 1892 and 1893 ... the PCGS wizards have agreed this is indeed an 1893 dated coin. Enjoy
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

The Columbus half dollars are probably the single most circulated classic silver commemorative. Even so, finding one in that low ball grade still amazes me, nickelsearcher. Muddler - Love that Isabella, really great eye appeal. I'm with you on waiting to put up my Isabella (mostly because I don't have photos yet, and use an old fashioned digital camera. Yes, camera. Coronet - Each one of yours has a different toning, which shows some of the range of color naturally found on this issue. Absolutely love the toning on all three. This is one of the few 'easy' CSC to find with nice toning and you've certainly taken advantage of that fact. Fuzzy - All solid examples. GR58 - I usually don''t like those second hand displays, but I actually like yours, with the stamps, very much. I know if I saw one for sale at a reasonable price, I'd have to nab it. Beefer - DUDE - Love that 64 Columbus you have there! as well as your other selections. You have really made some great choices in a short time. I can see the need for snapping up some duplication when you can love your second and third examples. Here's my Columbus and I'll wait on the Isabella, too.

On above, the only noticeable marks are on the center sail of the reverse. Any other scratches are on the holder. The toning is much bolder in person, but we know how tough it is to show the real colors.

I'm loving the Isabella's shown so far! Coronet, you're Isabella looks great! Muddler - I love how the color of the Columbian and the Isabella match almost perfectly! Like a pair made for each other. Moxking, that is a sweet Columbian! Now I understand! I just watched an auction of World's Fair memorabilia, and there were tons of stuff from the Chicago/Columbian Expo, from pocketwatches and postcards to wooden clocks, spoons, and razors. I was tempted, but decided I'm sticking with coins. There were two pocketwatches that were fashioned from the Columbian halves, but they sold for more then I was willing to buy them for ($1250 and $425 + 20% BP). Size is 28mm, which makes me think they may have been made from 2 coins sandwiched and tooled to fit the workings. Here's the one that went for $1250 -

Gotta put that gold piece back on my short list. These modern commemoratives look great in proof.

Having seen the modern commemorative issues I now understand why so many more proof are sold. They are really much more appealing. Still, for lower mintage I can understand why it's best to get both.

Indeed they're beautiful, though that Columbus dollar reverse is kind of goofy.

I never realized the Charter Oak is on this piece and the State Quarter. It looks so much better here, and that eagle is something to behold as well.
