Well, it's a little late for opening day, but PLAY BALL! The Baseball HOF coins were quite popular when released with both the silver dollar and the half eagle being sold out. The half eagle sold out on the day of issue. The half eagle proof mintage is 32,428, the BU mintage is 17,674 and the total is 50,102. PL 112-152 authorized a combined mintage of 50,000, but I doubt anyone at the Mint was jailed over those extra 102 coins As everyone knows, the curvature of the coins is unique (until next year's moon landing commemoratives) for US coins. I'm not really a fan of using the same design on all 3 denominations. My wife likes the curved coins though, so I got both half dollars to go along with the silver dollar and half eagle. The Baseball HOF coins have to be the poster child for TPG grading labels running amok. It seems like just about every player in the HoF has a label (Even banned from baseball for life Pete Rose, who isn't in the HoF, has a label!). PCGS calls each different label a "die variety" which I've never agreed with or understood, but it is what it is. It does make me glad that I'm not a "label" collector though. with Coronet1832 that the curvature makes these coins hard to photograph, but here my attempts ...

Unfortunately I had a store that sold tons of sports cards up until 1989 when the bottom fell out of that market.
Even 28 years later seeing anything sports related makes my stomach queasy.

Agree with mox completely, sports stuff scares me (old Blackhawks jerseys, anyone?), but I do find the Baseball design quite well laid out for a circular coin.

Just a heads up - the coin for tomorrow has a duplicate listing on 5/6. The list I pulled from contained two different listings for the same coin The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and the Police Memorial are one and the same—sorry about that.

Quote: the coin for tomorrow has a duplicate listing on 5/6 Do appreciate the heads up. I suggest that 5/06 can be used as a catch up day for anyone who missed the original day for posing their coin. If agreed ... I'll use the day to share my personal favorite from my MS classic silver type set ... which was not shown on it's day.

Here are my contributions to today's commemorative for the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. IMHO the coins are generally ok, but Muir's beard always seemed a bit strange to me and I never did get the connection of a Latina Folkorica dancer to the NPS. Enjoy ...
