People bring me jars of change, so I don't know how it happened. I just had to share these two with ya'll. I thought it was amazing they could be so flattened and still retain design elements.

With the black spots on the dime, I am inclined to say it was heated up and pressed on by something.

PSD. Doesn't really matter how it happens, but sometimes we can figure it out. When they get back to the bank, they will send them in to be cancelled and recycled.

Having train-tracked many coins in my youth,I'd say these are not examples.Those are usually much flatter and oval shaped with very little details left.
Due to the irregular edge on these,I'd say they are prime examples of the often mentioned act of putting them between two pieces of leather and beating them with a heavy hammer.
