1976-D LMC - Planchet Clip?

thats a clipped planchet.

What makes it a clipped planchet and the other nickel I posted, not a clipped planchet? These are the first two I've ever seen (odd I get them on the same day) but I don't know anything about how to classify them except that it's a chunk of metal missing from the coin.

Look at the rim
The rims gone on the penny but not the nickel. All the clips I came across so far has the rim missing where the coin was clipped. I found 15 clips so far my ltest one was a triple curved clip on a nickel.

There's a rather distinct Blakesley effect on the rim opposing the clip, which is a good diagnostic for coin struck on a clipped planchet.
