So, I been looking for a coin of Henry VIII for some time. As historical figures go this king certainly had an impact on society. His many wives, the split with Rome, the establishment of a new church for England, and the debasing on British coins are just some of the things he is famous for. This coin shall take a prominent place in my historical figures collection. Yes, the coin is in a slab, but I will fix that. Please post your coins of Henry VIII or any of the Tudors. England. Despite my personal connections (ancestors from multiple lineages hailing from Britain), old English coins have always scared me off. This is a superb coin, congratulations!

Great acquisition!
I know that cleaning is considered a no-no in the numismatic world, but sometimes on medieval coins, it can make a portrait jump out visually. And if you are going for the monarch, that's not a bad thing.
(context: my wife is a Tudor enthusiast, and the Henry VIII groat she got from me is nowhere near as striking as yours!)

I've got a nice groat (or is it a half?) of VIII with Thomas Wolsey's initials on the back of it, which I believe adds to its historical intrigue... I'll see if I can't post a picture of it later.

That is a really nice half groat. I also like that it is an historically significant issue with the Archbishop's initials.

Those are both lovely examples of Henry VIII.
OP's groat is nice and round with a super sharp strike and mostly problem-free, which makes it both extremely desirable and substantially more expensive -- you can find average condition half-groats for the price of a good date night with your significant other, but a groat in a condition similar to OP's will multiply that by a factor of eight or ten or twenty. Irish issues and posthumous issues can run that number up by four to ten times as much again.
A Five Monarchs set of the Tudors is a worthy and historical pursuit, and yet within the financial reach of mere mortals. Makes me want to go get busy...
