Hello Everyone.

Its me again with another penny I thought might be doubled. I looked at the articles Coop sent many times over. I think I am understanding what you meant with "changing my focus". I am looking for the "notches" and think this may be one. (Keeping my fingers crossed)

The area I am focusing on is the "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on the reverse. I am still confused about the Machine Doubling and am thinking that is what I see on the "ONE CENT". I am also seeing the "tie" doubled on the obverse.

I am not able to get a picture of the full coin in a frame with the scope I have. When elevated to fit the full coin, I can not get it focused so please forgive the fact that all photos are partial. I also wanted to ask if there are double dies out there that also have Machine Doubling on them. For my sake...I sure hope its just one or the other as figuring it all out is much harder than I had imagined.

Thank you again for your time and have a great day.

I apparently did something wrong as I thought I had rotated all pictures to be in the upright position. So sorry!

I don't see any doubling. The die does look worn, though.

Thank you John. I definately will look at those links. I feel stupid saying this, but when looking at all the references I feel as tho I understand what I am looking at. However, the more I read, the more confused I get.

I do appreciate everyones time and I really am trying not to waste it with my numerous posts and questions. Usually I'm a quick learner but these coins are proving otherwise. #128547;

When you look at your coin, I don't see any hub doubling. The devices are all normal in size. But something is going on on your coin. Most of the time we see Die Deterioration on the date. Or on the date and Liberty. But the die that struck your coin is showing all devices showing die wear towards the rim direction. Thus that's why you see Die Deterioration, even on the tie. Reverse is also showing the same thing. All devices again showing it. In fact if you wanted to have examples of all devices showing Die Deterioration, you have the complete collection on just one coin. So no premium for this, but an educational piece to show to a new collector what Die Deterioration would look everywhere.

Thank you for the education Coop. Please feel free to use this to educate more people like me. Its gonna be a very long time before I attempt to help another member. I have no problem encouraging people but I have got to get a solid handle on this before I dare try to help another. Ive been doing a lot a reading and think I am learning, but we all know how Ive been doing...lol

Thank you to all for your encouragement and kind words. I really do enjoy going through coins and it is great to have people, like you, to steer me in the right direction. Ive got another penny I am about to post that looks interesting. (2018) I'm looking forward to your responses.
