Does being top rated plus on ebay mean that your items will get more views and receive more bids vs ordinary sellers?

Spent an hour googling this question and the best answer I can find is "Maybe." I was hoping someone experienced with selling coins on ebay may know.

The 10% off final value fees sounds nice, but the one day shipping requirement after each and every sale seems a bit strict. Is all that hassle worth the benefits?

Unfortunately the answer of maybe that you found is the correct one with how much they toggle with listings and who can see what.

It's really not worth the discount. 10% of the FVF is 1% or less of the total whether or not you have a store. It's not worth jumping through the hoops

The benefit to being 'top rated' in my opinion is that it shows a buyer that you as a seller is committed to your store. When buying coins you want to see that the eBayer you are buying from hasn't set up a store that will be gone in a week after selling off a bunch of counterfeits.

He's talking about the plus version of it and neither version has anything to do with being "committed". It's all just about jumping through hoops and offering unreasonably long return periods

Top rated plus has very little to do with showing a seller is committed. Seller longevity and history is a MUCH better indicator of trustworthiness than 'Top Rated Plus.' For most coin dealers, the 'requirements' for top rated plus are very, very difficult to build into a viable business model for coins, although perhaps they are easier if you are selling clothes or electronics.
Rest in Peace

The "instant" shipping makes for all kinds of trouble in trying to keep the PLUS. It DOES NOT seem to take into account national holidays, nor Saturday sales that don't get shipped until Monday. It's even worse if the Monday also happens to be a holiday the PO is closed on.

ebay has continued to "cut back" on "rewards" both for the buyers and the sellers. They made sure everyone got hooked on the "buyers reward" then dropped the amount paid to a "who cares" level.

Same is true with the PLUS for sellers. They had a program that was easy to work with and actually offered good rewards. That's all down the tube too.

Likewise, I don't think the feedback score is nearly as instructive as it once was. Buyers can do anything and not suffer negatives. Sellers will always be nailed by the occasional wacko, no matter how good they take care of their customers.

I used to do 50% of my buying and 100% of my selling on ebay. I'm down to MAYBE 5% of my buying and 0% of my selling.

It depends where you live too. They go off pacific time so anything to 3am if you live on the east coast is considered the day before. So if something sells on a Friday at 2:58am you have to ship it by the end of the day or get dinged.

Then the even more fun part is you can ship 5 minutes after the sale and if USPS takes to long to get it there you get dinged as a seller.

Sadly they're still the best selling option fee wise by far besides Instagram for most sellers. It would be nice for someone to try and seriously compete with them

Buying - Shows, local classified ads, Heritage, Stacks, Great Collections, in most to least order.

Selling - Shows, LCS bid board, local estate auctions.
