nice coins ! this is the last silver coin I can post in this thread: an early taler from Germany with a dragon slayer as popular theme Mansfeld Taler 1535 Hoiger VI. Gebhard VII. Albrecht VII., Philipp II. Dav. 9479; Tornau 94 Obverse: MON __ ARG __ COMI . DOMI . DE . MANSFE Reverse: C* HOIGER . GEBHAR . ALBER . E . PHILP 15___35 this is my only slabbed coin; the slabbing explains the distractive E in the plastic capsule I did not yet find time to remove the capsule and having no experience, I wonder if it is easy or not

Quote: an early taler from Germany with a dragon slayer Lovely thaler! Quote: Nice Groat! Here is a contemporaneous one from Thorn More Poland groats to come in the next week I am guessing, starting with @giljan's, and now mine. During 1534-35 Sigismiund's portrait changed from the "pageboy" haircut to the one we saw yesterday where he wears a hat under the crown. From the Torun mint, both types were made in 1534.

one of the most curious pieces in my collection 1534 Taler sized silver cast religious medaillon, from the school of Hieronymus Magdeburger (1520 - 1540), guilt and in contemporary setting. OBV Joab stabs Amasa in the back while embracing REV Judas kiss and arrest of Christ

Quote: one of the most curious pieces in my collection Indeed that is a really amazing piece of craftsmanship. Was this part of a series of Biblical topics addressed by this medal maker? Thanks for posting! I have a more mundane Polish grosz for 1533, Torun mint:
