That is a British Sovereign. Its about 1/4 ounce of gold.

Wow I was not expecting that I had such bad luck with all these coins so far. I was especially disappointed with that Indian Head leaders 48 coin set. Still dont know its value.

I'm really excited about this one!!
I need a case for it right away!

Nice find

I am thinking there are both half and full sovereign minted in 1915.
Having the size and weight of the coin would tell which one you have.

The obverse is King George V
The reverse is St. George slaying a dragon.

Market price on common Sovereigns is around $300.
