I'm not real familiar with this type, and don't have the relevant catalogs, but if it is the color, two thoughts come to mind: 1. there are examples of recent auction sales of the 1 groschen type with golden toning on the reverse https://www.coinarchives.com/64e032...age00235.jpg 2. maybe the coin was gold plated at some time in the past to try and pass it off as a florin, since the fleur-de-lis motif is also typical of florins that were used in this part of Europe, and the diameter is a close match as well. Aspro New Member South Africa 16 Posts	Posted 08/22/2018 04:30 am I have identified this as a half groschen from 15/16 century. But it seems that it (and all similar ones)should be silver which mine is not. It has a brassy tone to it. Hence my call for help. Report this Post to the Staff

Also, I couldn't find a 1/2 groschen with the exact details of yours when I went looking online yesterday (with a rosette before SEMISSIS obverse, and that three-pronged device -- is it cross and keys? -- before GLORIA), though I agree it looks like other 15/16 c. examples.
