Exactly what the title asks, may get a cleaned designation. Looks like it was a pocket piece for a very long time.

I'd say it straight-grades PO-01. Remarkable.

It's got a chance. I'd probably take a shot on that one

Is the value there to pay to get it graded? This was a hand me down from my grandfather's collection.

A very scarce date in Poor 1 straight graded (or not) and worth a substantial premium over melt. A nice add!

PO-1. Hard to find PO-1 for this date. I'd submit it to a TPG, IMO.

I'd like to send this off to get graded, but I've never sent something off before. I tried looking at the PCGS website, and I'm kind of nervous I'd fill out the paperwork incorrectly. I don't know I'f I'd have enough coins worth being graded to sign up for the membership on top of the grading fee. Do dealers submit coins for customers for a fee at all?

Look for a PCGS dealer that can submit it for you. They will charge a fee along with PCGS fees.

That is probably the route I'll go. I actually just called one place and they said they wouldn't do it unless I was looking to sell the coin. I hope I can find a good dealer to help me.
Rest in Peace

Either a dealer or someone here that does mass submissions where it could tag along for a bit less than a single submission rate...

8 is all you need to get the free membership and actually save money. The $249 membership that comes with the 8 vouchers, then use it on the regular gold shield tier and it saves you money on that submission.

I found a place that said it would cost me $18 to get this coin graded. He sounded skeptical about wanting me to get a Poor 1 graded though.

If it does come back a 1, what would it realistically be worth? I see someone trying to get a grand for one on ebay, but I doubt that's a great deal.
