Here is a small bronze from Syracuse. How could I clean the deposit at the left of the hund?

This coin has a nice patina, I wouldn't do anything to it.

Don't clean it
or will be the result.

I also have a Syracusan bronze of Agathocles, with about the same sort of presentation as yours, and I am perfectly happy with it.

I would never contemplate cleaning it.

BTW, I visited Syracuse (Sicily), 10 weeks ago.

I agree, it does not need cleaning. If you wish to, then make sure to be gentle; the more patience put in, the better the result. For this coin, I would recommend soaking in olive oil, giving a light brushing weekly until the deposit is gone. This process could take a long time, usually measured in the months.
