I also have a Syracusan bronze of Agathocles, with about the same sort of presentation as yours, and I am perfectly happy with it. If you wish to, then make sure to be gentle; the more patience put in, the better the result. For this coin, I would recommend soaking in olive oil, giving a light brushing weekly until the deposit is gone. This process could take a long time, usually measured in the months.
