So I happened upon an estate sale with two trays of world coins. I won each for $7.50. Nothing crazy, but quite a few nice finds. Just the little bit of silver in this batch makes it worthwhile, but I'm really happy about a couple of dozen of the coins. This is the whole group, minus a few dozen zinc/aluminum coins that I don't care for.
Smaller Groupings. A couple of really nice coins in this bunch from Italy. Netherlands and Philipines. A large group from Jordan. Not super interesting to me. The three larger Vatican coins are what prompted me to bid. The other 3 I discovered while going through the bags later. I still have a small group that I haven't been able to ID. I'm sure I will figure it out, but feel free to make my job easier. I'm going cross-eyed from looking all this up. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Oriole, I really appreciate the input. That L.20 should have been a dead giveaway. I must be very tired.
As far as getting a good deal, I got a full days worth of entertainment looking through and identifying, so, yeah, great deal!

I have a fondness for those Chinese. That Szechuen looks very nice as well as the coppers. Post each Chinese separately or maybe two at a time if help is needed to I.D.

I love the Art Nouveau reverse on that that Italian 5 c. coin. Like some of the contemporary French coppers. And that set from the short-lived Slovakia Republic (circa 1940) is historically very interesting. Quote: A large group from Jordan. Not super interesting to me You can always sell 'em off on ebay. I wanted one of those larger denominations for my birthyear set, and paid a decent amount for one in nice condition. Either the owner of those coins travelled A LOT, or was a collector his/her self.

Quote:You can always sell 'em off on ebay. I wanted one of those larger denominations for my birthyear set, and paid a decent amount for one in nice condition. Yeah, that is the plan. Unfortunately ebay makes it difficult for new sellers. This is only my second month and I am currently limited to 10 listings per month. I need to get in touch with them to figure out how to get that raised without getting a business account. I actually have about 75 pounds of foreign coins that I want to get rid of. I've picked through for silver and many of the older coins that are interesting to me. I've been wondering how to go about selling them. The birth year concept is intriguing. That had never occured to me. I wonder if I should sort them by country, region, year, composition. Any thoughts on that? Perhaps that is a topic unto itself.

I started selling on ebay in September, after a month they doubled my limits, by now I could sell 80 items or 5 grand a month, don't worry! The limits go up fast! Sentence removed by staff, per board rulesRight now I'm a big puppy slobbering all over that 1863 lira and the vatican 20 Cents! That is the estate lot of the century!

I'm almost two months in and they haven't raised mine yet. I'll need to call. Quote: Sentence removed by staff, per board rules. I still need about another month to meet the criteria. Even then, I will be keeping the more interesting older coins.
