That's because they are made of Multi-Ply Plated Steel.
So they are magnetic.
If you had shown the Obverse, you should see a small "P"
under the Queen.

The P Jim is talking about is NOT a mint mark but P for Plated Steel as said above.

Except in 2007 - the RCM symbol was used. So there is no distinguishing mark for plated steel versus plated zinc.
